Support from Pharmacy staff was crucial to the success of the POM to P switch of VIAGRA CONNECT ®. Interactive workshops boosted confidence in recommendation to 90%.

Knowledge gap for Pharmacy staff.

Pfizer Consumer Healthcare identified that, in common with other switch situations, there was a knowledge gap amongst Pharmacists and pharmacy staff and this was particularly evident in the ED (Erectile Dysfunction) category.

Communicating sexual medication was also a new skill for Pharmacy staff. There was a significant need for training and education of all pharmacy staff on this brand-new OTC category.

Support from Pharmacists and pharmacy staff was crucial to the success of the brand. Staff needed to be able to engage, and offer appropriate advice to customers and recommend the brand with confidence.

Interactive workshops.

We organised a series of 23 face to face interactive workshops for Pharmacists and pharmacy staff on VIAGRA CONNECT®. This form of training is generally recognised as one of the most effective ways to engage staff in learning.

The workshops were designed to help educate staff and provide them with the knowledge to offer appropriate advice to men requesting VIAGRA CONNECT®.

Boosting confidence to 90%.

1,800 Pharmacy staff were trained.

The training shifted their confidence to recommend VIAGRA CONNECT® from 24% to 90%

And 98% rated the overall workshop extremely useful.
